Additionally, SFA took an early lead on a Jordan Lyles touchdown run. Lyles is one of Penn State's top running back targets in the class of 2024.
Samaj Jones has thrown I believe just one pass so far for SJP. If the Hawks want to win this, they'll need to eventually throw it.
STA with a big pass play to take a 14-7 lead, didn't see who it was. Apologies on that. STA is moving the ball with easy early on.
Northwestern QB Ryan Hillinski looking much better today than he may have looked at any point last year.

Josiah Trotter has left the game for St. Joes Prep with an injury. He's on crutches. Hawks now without both Agard and Trotter.
Absolutely but it was such a Big Ten (west) type play call.

Both have had rather quiet games so far, SJP is not really throwing the ball a ton because of the talented secondary for STA. Hussey, however, did just leave with an injury.
Doesn't seem like a serious injury for Hussey by the way. It's a right ankle injury but looks like he perhaps just twisted his ankle the wrong way.
Penn State 2025 target Anthony Sacca intercepts an errant pass and the Hawks will only need to go about 35 yards to tie this game up. Less than a minute left in the first half.

For how poorly St. Joes Prep started this game, they'll enter halftime down 21-17. They'll take that all things considered.

I had to run to the store for the fiance for 10 minutes. I come back and St. Joes Prep is up 31-28. Unbelievable.
I have to double check if his only visits have been PSU but he was up at PSU this summer.
Frost gets some momentum (and luck) with two TDs to take 28-17 lead in 3rd. He decides to get cute with on-sides and gives NW great field position. They scored and now 28-24 with Cats driving with strong running game. Sorry, but this is CJF's problem as well. Talent aside, these are usually best coached teams in Big Ten - OSU, IA, NW. You beat them physically and athletically, not being cute.
SJP would go on to lose 49-37 after a failed lateral on the final play of the game.
I'm never in favor of running low risk probability plays in games that you lead. Never give up momentum.
Nebraska still with major problems. NW just ran it right down throats and take lead. They looked like did not want to tackle. Frost may not last this season.
