are there really only 8 healthy 125 lb'ers?

could have an impact on team score because would be likely to give up bonus points...

no ...

the seeing has nothing to do with the number of wrestlers at the weight. The B1G only seeds the top 8 per weight class, except in classes where their National allocation exceeds 8. In those weight classes, they seed 14.

Also, keep in mind that these are pre-seeds. The B1G always announces the pre-seeds, but the brackets are not released until the seeds are finalized.

Minor correction, Tom. The Big Ten seeds to 14 even at 8 allocation slots. They wrestle to 9th, given that one of the criteria for Bronze Standard is one-position from auto-qualifying.
