World Cup live Thread

GEO gets a late, crappy TD call. Snyder turns around and scores with roughly 5seconds left.
3-3 criteria win for Snyder.
4-3 (15-14) USA going into HWT.
Our fate rests in Rey against #1 HWT in the world...

Rey gives up a takedown, looking for a crap counter chest-wrap. 2-0 GEO, but being challenged.
We're going to lose this one. Most likely looking 3-0.

The former Hawkeyes (Dennis & Ramos) had a very tough weekend.
No excuses whatsoever for them. Watch some videos of their opponents the last few years. Best in the World.

I would pay to watch Nico or Gilman wrestle Rahimi. Elite wrestling forsure

Russia and Iran are the Kings right now. USA is knocking down that door. Cant wait for Rio!

Agreed.

If nico or Gilman could do better they would be there. Felt the same when the tan guys were complaining about frank.

Good eye!! Lol. I just noticed that if you jumble up the letters in his forum name it can indeed spell out Lemon Pie.

I saw that too but I dismissed it and said to myself ...nahh....but have to admit once I saw the post on HR, i said....self that is some decent mid level trolling.....not big cheese to la gran queso level but decent nonetheless

great job this weekend, Crop. I've done enough PBPs on this board to appreciate what a challenge it can be to get things right, to accurately detail what happens and what nearly happens, AND to try to enjoy the wrestling yourself.

also, kudos to WildTurk for getting this thread started, and doing some early PBP.

Thanks for the pbp.....,great stuff. USA making progress with some work to do, but certainly moving in the right direction.

Frank... just goes out there and proves the doubters wrong. Goes 4-0 over the weekend. Goes down 3-0 to the Georgian wrestler and he just tires the guy out with heavy hands and constant pressure on his opponents head. I watched the bout on NBC Sports and in this match.. I had every confidence that Frank would come back in the match... with no homerism thrown in. Frank is a hammer at 65kg and I doubt that anyone at the Olympics is going to be stronger than Frank. He could create magic at the Olympics if he guards against getting down early. If he creates the early pressure, gets early points... Frank could medal. Here's to him doing so.

Frank... just living the dream.

Impressive showing also by James Green going 4-0 at the World Cup. Did Kyle Snyder do the same? Wish Jordan Burroughs and Tervel Dlagnev were at this meet. Completely different results happen if they were. No one's beating Jordan and none of the matches come down to Tervel if Jordan wins.

I'd like to see those guys enter their names on the country entry form you get on the plane, in turbulence and with the golf pencil.
