That version of Sweet Jane is the absolute best!
unless of course you are listening to this thoroughly cocaine fueled version from 1974....That version of Sweet Jane is the absolute best!
Thanks for posting. I have a man crush on David Gilmour. He is so talented. While I have Pink Floyd in my CD collection and respect them as rock legends, they MIGHT make it into my Top25 favorite acts... but this track, and particularly this performance - earns my nod as among the best ever
For me, it puts David Gilmour on the top shelf with Neil Young as far as raw and deep musical/lyrical talent and importance
Thanks for posting ... great performance and with Richard WrightThe video quality is poor but Gilmour's solo in this version of Fat Old Sun is sublime
I love Floyd and love this song from what is probably an under-appreciated album. I should point out though that the lyrics are written by Gilmour’s wife. While I have Pink Floyd in my CD collection and respect them as rock legends, they MIGHT make it into my Top25 favorite acts... but this track, and particularly this performance - earns my nod as among the best ever

That’s fantastic. I think this is probably the best performance/entrance I ever saw on Letterman. I love this:

Wearing the Inside Out from the same album and sung by Rick Wright is a hidden gem.
I saw them play Midnight Rambler live at The Roseland Ballroom in NYC in 2002. With only 2,000 people in the joint, I thought we were going to being the roof down.
