The Message: Schedule nobody.

Yep. AD's across the country cancelling OOC P5 games for bottom feeding G5 teams as we speak...

Repeat: 127th OOC.

Yank everyone off non con, schedule Idaho, Eastern Wash, and Louisiana Monroe.

That means everyone.

So basically - this entire "playoff committee" ... all they have to do is look at the polls and say "OK, looks good. Nice job, see everyone in 9 months."

The slippery slope has now been slid down.

Don't schedule anyone, and back into your bid.

Good job committee.

127th.

We did schedule nobodies. We just tripped up against one of them in game 2 while fighting through injuries and breaking in a new DL and offense.

Unfortunately we have two of the worst power 5 teams in our conference (Rutgers and Maryland), so scheduling more cupcakes won't help long term.

The schedules are made several years in advance. There's too many variables....players leaving early, recruiting from year to year, on the field play, etc.

not the right message if you are OSU. They are in because they played the toughest schedule of any of the 4 finalists. An won more against top ranked teams. Sorry

The take home message is schedule your out of conference games as Rutgers, Idaho, and Portland State.

If Penn St played Washington's schedule they'd have only 1 loss too- and that apparently trumps everything (including actual play on the field).

Agree. 1 loss with a weak schedule is better than 2 losses with a tougher schedule in the eyes of the committee. Now if you want to cement your spot you go with a tough schedule and win them all. Or maybe you get lucky and even if you lose 1 the circumstances work out that you make it anyway (e.g., OSU). But if you happen to lose and end up competing with teams that didn't lose as many, even if their schedule stinks they will get the spot. That's the message the committee sent today.

Only because they were fortunate that they were up against a field of only 2 other one loss teams and 1 undefeated team. If there's another 1 loss Big 10 team OSU may have been in trouble.
