None of that matters.....It doesn't matter that the score was misleading, if that's even such a thing. If Michigan is mighty and great how come they were losing to what was basically an inept team that day at some point in the 3rd quarter?
In sports the other teams have players that are the same size and shape of yours and guess what they are trying to prevent you from doing exactly what you want to do. They are going to force you to make mistakes, they are going to do everything possible to keep you from achieving your goal for that play or series or half or game. It's literally how sports works. Curtis Jacobs was one of the best players on the field at any given time, he's going to perform his duties to his highest ability on every play regardless of how the team is performing overall. A lesser player doesn't finish that play the way Jacobs does, because he's a good player who makes plays for his team. Penn State, today, yesterday and tomorrow has good football players, whether their record is 5-6 or 11-1. Penn State was 7-6 last year but lead the Big 10 with 8 NFL draft picks because your individual talent sometimes isn't reflected in your record.
Just because another team is dominating a game it doesn't mean the other teams players aren't gonna make a play as they would in close game or in a game they themselves are dominating. Sean Clifford has gashed many teams with a read option play in his career, why is it any different that he did it last game? Because the other team was winning? To contend that the best players won't make plays simply because they're losing the game handily is just straight foolish.
The whole thought line that other team in any sport shouldn't be able to competently accomplish anything if the other team is better, playing better that game, faster, stronger, more prepared or whatever is an, "I've never played sports, I'm an armchair quarterback take." It wreaks of lack of real sports knowledge. It's not an opinion any athlete who has played a sport at higher level would have. That's why people like Ron Cook hold it, as well as others on this board, because they have no real time athletic experience. Simply put they don't understand competition from the inside.
