I worked the ramp back in the day. Ironically, we serviced Q400’s and it was our perception that it was a lemon. After seeing what this dude did I’ll say it’s a hell of a plane.

It's a tragic event, but it's overly sensationalized by calling it a hijacking. The dude outright stole it.

Fortunately/unfortunately it sounds like the guy was just mentally unstable, and not trying to exact revenge against anyone by using the plane as a weapon
