I know nothing special, I'm just figuring OSU beat PSU 5 games in a row and eventually PSU will win. Most teams drop one game so why not to us? Again I have no special knowledge but if Purdue and Iowa can win big in upsets and PSU can lose a close one to a high ranked OSU with some sketchy calls in 03 and 2014, why not this weekend.
Flame away guys, a guy can have hope.

Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.
I've always loved a sports story that has a "cinderella" aspect to it.

Stroud has had some bad pick 6s this year. We need 1 of those. The key will be our dbs vs their receivers. No big plays and need to get a couple of turnovers. Have to somehow get pressure on Stroud.

Getting pressure on him is the key, gotta move him off his spots and his timing. The problem is, I haven't been impressed with our front 4 in terms of getting pressure. We have needed to blitz to get home and if you blitz and don't get home against theses guys.....lights out.

I definitely like us to beat the 16-point spread.

Winning outright is a lot tougher ask, but some of the intangibles have lined up in our favor, so it could happen. Wouldn't be brave enough to bet the game straight-up though.

What gets me is that Iowa shut down their running game...and they still scored 54 points.

Iowa turned the ball over 6 times, gave up 2 late 4th quarter touchdowns, dropped 2 interceptions, had another interception called back on penalty, and tried to run a fake punt at their own 30.
Stop pretending they aren't human because they are. They still might beat us by 20 points but it is not impossible that this game is close.

Yeah, I mean...Iowa turned the ball over like they were allergic to it. This things was going to be a lot more like 24-10 without those turnovers.

Stop pretending they aren't human? I've said in, like, five separate posts that we'll cover the 16-point spread and have at least a realistic, though far from likely, shot to spring the upset.

The six turnovers were a killer. It's hard to beat anyone with an offense that sucks and turns the ball over six times. Even so, the fact remains that Iowa shut down their running game, and they still managed to score 54 points. That's sobering...with or without the turnovers.

Ah, the old "Due theory". Casinos love the due theory.

We didn't score 2 late TDs. We scored with 13:26 left in the 4th quarter, and again with 7:59 left in the 4th quarter. Our final two drives featured our second and third-string guys on offense without any points.

Iowa's turnovers also didn't kill them as much as they should have, since we settled for FGs several times in the first half. Coming off the bye -- against a very sound defense -- we had a hard time getting into a rhythm getting the ball inside the Iowa 30 yard line. Ryan Day teams are notoriously lethal with the full field to work with, and have struggled at times in and close to the red zone. By the 3rd quarter, we got into a rhythm and started scoring at will.

We also committed some costly turnovers. It happens. It was one of our sloppier games.

We're definitely human and can definitely lose on Saturday.

Buckeyes are human in the Beav. Always have been like no other place they play at. Go five DBs. Let the PSU DBs go man to man with the O$U WRs and rush a fifth guy (Carter) on Stroud. Then let Joseph or Brown cover the TE. Make them beat you and don’t sit back and let them beat you.

Here is where I stand also. We tried the other approach in Ann Arbor, I think we need to mic up things this Saturday at home.

This game is at home...that's a big deal white out or no white out: Beaver Stadium is one of the five toughest and loudest places to play by every account and in every section of the nation. Meyer himself said Beaver Stadium is more than a touchdown worth of points for the home team. This is a very good team we are playing but they ain't much better than the other 3 or 4 at the top right now, and Alabama lost too. Great teams lose every season on the road, it's not impossible.

Can't wait to play this game because in all honesty it feels like 95% of the nation has already handed it over to Ohio State.

The King does not think an upset here is too far-fetched.

The King has noticed that OSU has changed identity in recent years. Now more resembling a Big 12 team. No longer are they a big and tough, punch-you-in-mouth up front and out-physical you type of outfit.

OSU is now a WR driven program. The OL is built to provide a clean pocket as opposed to move a pile. It is fun to watch, especially against the lesser folks. But certain teams give them fits.

Meanwhile, That Team Up North has stolen OSU’s identity.

Because Penn State always plays Ohio State tough, I would not be that surprised if Penn State were to pull off an upset. The big vulnerability for Penn State is Sean Clifford who has sometimes made poor decisions. Ohio State's new defense is predicated on disguising looks and fooling the offense and the quarterback. This worked very well at Oklahoma State for Jim Knowles and appears to be working well now. Would mention that Iowa had very few turnovers before Ohio State and then they had a huge number last week.

I'd be shocked if we win tbh

I’ll take a win any darn way we can get one - bad call, blocked kick, act of God, whatever. Winning this game vs OSU would be the most awesome win since Barkley and Company kicked the holy crop out of Michigan in 2017.
Would be nice to win on an incomplete touchdown that the refs ruled a td for us.
