CBS Reports: Power 5 AD’s: ‘Inevitable’ 2020 College Football Season will not be played this fall according to 2 Power 5 AD’s — Neither would go on the record due to the sensitivity.

Penn State Athletics is staring at a $100 Million Dollar Loss for 2020 and the ripple effect to Happy Valley is Catastrophic for the State College Business Community.

In 2019, PSU Athletics spent ~$160 Million and at
best showed a profit of ~ $4 Million. That’s in Good Times. The Year of 2020 is a Disaster.

The Snowball effect will mean Layoffs (or worse) at Penn State.

Even if there is Spring Football it’s hard to imagine that football teams would play a 10 game schedule—not to mention that that it would be ~ an 8 Month Long Wait— I hope I’m wrong.

Financially, the State College Community is in dire shape. After COVED, Lockdown, a summer without all sports and activities, Arts Festivals, Sports Camps, Fairs and many other events — It’s difficult to be positive.

Stay tuned ...

Stay tuned for what? This shit has been hashed out here for 2 days.

Wait if there’s no football season or the hundreds of thousands of fans who patronize local businesses this could lead to financial hardship for the economy of Centre County? Truly mind blowing information.

There will be a lot of economic devastation from this "COVED" thingy besides Happy Valley.

I think Frank should do us all a favor and paint his own house

Hey Frank Sheeran I have to ask what made you come up with the handle name "Frank Sheeran?"

If all the rest of the sports aside from football and men's basketball didn't happen then nothing bad would happen financially. If the world is going to end financially if football doesn't happen then maybe that should give us a new appreciation for what football does financially and a realization of what the rest of the sports don't do financially.

Hey ChiTown, Glad to see you.

Those were the days — When we fought to defend JoePa and counter the Corruption that emanated from Harrisburg.

Glad to see justice finally being served

Remember when I ‘Called It’ for Schultz & Curley to
take a minor plea? — They couldn’t possibly beat the PA corruption. F... Them

I am sure James Franklin and his staff will happily give up some of their salary to help out PSU.

One would think that after the Sandusky near death experience, however unfair, that the whiz kids at PSU would have realized Happy Valley is a one horse show, and decide to diversify. Instead of attracting a business community it "invested" in foreign exchange students who paid full tuition and new housing for them. When we recover, I hope PSU returns to smaller, more Pennsylvania centric university.

So I guess investing millions off campus in the Innovation Center has nothing to do with diversifying the economic base of HV.

He has already donated 10% of his salary. Just waiting for Franklin to show how much he "cares" for good ole PSU.
After always ending up 3rd in the B1G, he should "donate" 1/3 of his salary permanently. How do you know that Franklin didn't take a pay cut?

Besides, here's how he cares for good ole PSU. Did Jim Bob do anything do anything like this?

"James Franklin announced on Friday that he and his wife Fumi have raised $462,500 for the Franklin Family Educational Equity Scholarship.

The full tuition scholarship, which was established in 2019, will be given out to one Penn State student."

Not with Ira's & dumley's plans for a casino in State College. They'll build the casino in the future, ln the mean time they'll start to buy the properties of failed business, and create new resturants and shops for casino customers that make a mini vacation of gambling and a mini SC vacation.

Ummm, I live in State College, what is this Innovation Center you speak of because I haven't heard of it. If you mean Innovation Park, then PSU pretty much filled those buildings with HR and other PSU units like World Campus and Outreach. No one wants to work out there because it is on an island among farmland. No where to walk to get lunch, you have to hop in your car to get anywhere from there.

Big difference between "raised" and "gives".

The telling statement is that Athletics spent $160 million and showed a profit of $4 million.

Meaning that $160 million out of $164 million in athletic revenue went right back into athletics.

If there are no sports then that cost is much closer to zero than $160 million.

Don't expect a journalist to figure it out
