OT: Shiffrin wins Super G at Worlds. Vonn crashes

Wow. Ties the season win record with almost 6 weeks to go. About 25 wins from Stenmark. She might get it by the time she’s 25
Her arthritis will be setting in shortly. Luckily it should be limited to her knees.Retirement looks good on her.
I can think of other things that would look good on her- starting with …. nevermindRetirement looks good on her.

She is done after tomorrow's downhill. She is not finishing out the season. She was very lucky to escape unhurt today albeit probably heavily bruised. I watched the finals this morning. Shiffrin went right before Vonn and vaulted into first place and Lindsay followed and crashed heavily. Basically both ski's went through the gate in between both pipes and went down face first. It was scary but after some time she refused the sled and skied down the rest of the course to the crowd cheering her final Super G race. Was a great thing to see. Shiffrin basically was in tears she wanted Vonn to go out on top and I am sure wouldn't have minded if Vonn edged her out for the win this time. Her right knee is cooked. I am glad she is getting out and not risking long term injury. She is 1 of the greatest of all time with nothing to prove. Fearless to speed.

Was a great race. Watched it at 6:30am this morning. Heart sank for Vonn but glad Shiffrin won. The torch has been passed.
