Um, if you've got five minutes could you please explain how you got the links to work the way you did? I wanna be like the cool kids.
type the word LINK (or any text you want to hyperlink a web page)
highlight the text
then click on the "link" icon (looks like a chain link, just to the right of the A (font family) icon at the top of the box)
then copy and paste a link in the window that appears and click on INSERT
