That is probably about it with Keener losing. We would need things to go crazy to catch the Suckeyes.

Zain is a bad man. Looks like he is wrestling determined to pin this kid no matter what.

Keener wasn't going to score any meaningful points anyway.

The problem is OSU going 3 for three so far........ with a couple more gimmes to come

Hayes has to lose his 149 bout...... OSU's luck has to end sometime.... doesn't it?
Hayes loses. Ryan uses another challenge. Hopefully the beginning of a run of bad luck to balance the universe.

There is a chance but something has to start happening. Hayes just lost for O$U!!!!!!!! That is big. As a side note, man is Tom Ryan a bag of dicks.
Finally caught a break in the match ups....Hayes will more than likely wrestle Sorensen in the Round of 12 with the loser eliminated.

I haven't been able to see any action prior to today. Rasheed's haircut really confused me as to what the hell I was watching.

Rasheed loss was big. It was a chance to pull even with OSU

Can you give a quick summary? Up 3-1, loses 5-4!

Trying to string points together, but can't come up with a situation that fits the score.

TIA

summary by Tom from the wrestling board thread:

197 Quarterfinal: Sahkur Rasheed vs. Michael Macchiavello (NC State)

Ugh, I'm using MM as an abbreviation for Macchiavello

Down goes Moore as Conel pins him!!!!

Per 1
Rasheed with a sloppy double, nothing. Rasheed is wearing the hair net again.;) Rasheed in on a single, and gets behind for the TD, 2-0. Rasheed looked for a cradle but it wasn't there. MM is flat. And then MM works to his feet, turns in and is out. RT just over 1 min for Rasheed. 2-1 is the score. MM reaches for a leg, nothing. End. RT @ 1:01 for Rasheed

Per 2
MM defers, and Rasheed takes bottom. He's up and out in 3 sec, 3-1. Rasheed in on a single, MM scramble, and a stalemate at 57 sec. Not many shots from Rasheed. MM keeps reaching, and Shak blocks him. End. RT @ 57 sec, I think, for Rasheed

Per 3
MM takes bottom. MM wroks to his feet and spins around behind for the reversal, 3-3. Rasheed had 1:10 in RT, but that's coming donw below 1 min. damn. Rasheed in a ball, hits a roll, and he's out with 48 sec left, 4-3. OOB with 43 sec. MM in on a single, Rasheed with a whizzer and grabs an ankle, then MM locks a cradle and this is bad as there is very little time. No NF, but MM wins 5-4. Damn. Rasheed didn't seem to have the gas tank. After Moore's loss, this was not what PSU fans wanted

OSU - 80.5
PSU - 67
..........
Then, "everyone else" (FWIW, UMich 59.5, Iowa 53.5)

PSU has a max of 47 Points they can win tonight
OSU has a max of 54 Points they can win tonight
(not counting bonus points..... which, btw OSU leads PSU 19-16 so far in bonus points).

When you run the numbers, PSU - to have any reasonable/good shot - has to go 5 for 5 in tonight's semis. (which would yield 35 points and the chance for a nice pick up on Saturday.... they also could net a max of 12 in tonight's consies).
5 for 5 would most likely - depending on what happens with the other OSU guys - set them into a near dead heat (maybe a slight lead) heading to tomorrow's placement and championship bouts.

Less than 5-5?
4-5 with a Nolf win keeps the door open (and then things will probably be decided on Saturday).... anything less than that - 3 for 5, or a 4 for 5 with a Nolf Loss - and they'd have to hope for a near OSU collapse.

OSU has a trio of "could go either way matches to start the night (before PSU will even send a guy to the mats):
Tomasello vs Lee (wrestled twice this year, each won a 1 point match)
Pletcher vs Micic (wrestled twice this year, each won competitive matches)
McKenna vs Meredith (not sure if they've met. Meredith #1 seed, but McKenna has been on a tear)....
So we will know a lot more about PSU's chances before Retherford even takes the floor tonight

If Nolf loses to Jordan (I don't think he will), its all but over.

Awfully tall task.

Magic eight ball says they have 1 shot in 4 of taking the crown. :)
I cant see Nolf losing he is a great wrestler
