Employees said on the news that it felt warm when they arrived...like the a/c was broken. Then they smelled smoke. Fire started on an upper floor and spread. Fire Dept Spokesperson said they were limited in how they could combat based on timing and large amount of black smoke which impeded visibility....so it ripped through whole section. Sad : (
Was in Jim's recently. Hasn't changed since I was first there in '78. Same old black and white subway tile walls with star photos. Still a good steak as well.
I moved to Wayne in 1977 and visited South St. and Jim’s for the first tIme. Good memories. There was a pretty happening scene on South Street at that time.
