Barbour didn't follow Curley, she followed Joyner.

Franklin didn't follow Paterno, he followed O'Brien. Another fun fact, Joyner was on the job (and university payroll not including paid Hershey board, pa retirement plan, etc.) longer than O'Brien, and that's not including his time on the bot.

Curley implemented step. However, a program that large has to go through the bot. The same bot who also undermined it at its critical juncture, put Joyner in charge to further shepherd it, and then handed it off to Barbour to make even better.
