Went there years ago when still under DuPont control. They have removed that and restored to original plan. Great tour but I miss the Dupont’s door knobs which were glass filled with mercury (!) to minimize the need to polish.

Route 20:
Monticello to the south.
The rotunda a stones throw to Charlottesville.
Barboursville ruins (Jefferson design) with fantastic winery and restaurant midway at 33 intersection
Montpelier to the north.

Not a bad way to spend a weekend.

My favorite place to view the city of Pittsburgh is the West End Overlook. It is a beautiful little park and a great place to have a picnic lunch. I ALWAYS take out of town visitors (business, family, friends) up there for photos. Don’t miss this if you visit Pittsburgh. Just DON’T!
