This is especially true when you understand that PSU's General Counsel at the time, Wendell Courtney - who says he was told about the 2001 incident, also did pro-bono work for The Second Mile where his wife, Linette Courtney, was a Board Member in 2001 (and throughout the early-to-mid 2000s)....and the Courtney's are good friends with the CEO & his wife, the President of TSM! After doing pro-bono work for TSM for years, Wendell Courtney becomes the full-time General Counsel of TSM in 2007! So this bull$hit that Courtney was running around telling everybody that Sandusky should be reported to DPW, which TSM had an absolute LEGAL OBLIGATION to do under MULTIPLE SECTIONS OF PA CPSL (you know the organization where his wife is on The TSM Board of Directors), but for some reason TSM didn't report Sandusky regarding 2001 -- gee, I guess Wendell Courtney wasn't running around telling everyone, including his wife, that Sandusky needed to be reported to DPW regarding the 2001 incident.

There was no failure. The minute Curley told JR what he knew, and that Jerry's guest privileges were rescinded, Penn State's role in this was over. It then became a TSM issue.

Here's what's much more likely. MM was disturbed but unsure about what he experienced so he was careful with what he told dad, Dranov, Joe, Curley, and Shultz. Those people were cautious about what they told others (Courtney, Raykovitz). Then under pressure MM started to claim that he said more. At that point everybody started covering their rear ends. It's human nature. Even the assistant coaches didn't say a whole lot to defend Joe. They were more concerned about keeping their heads low.

Actually, the "real story" supposedly is that MM hit the town after work on that Friday evening, just like he did on all Friday evenings at that time (i.e., just out of undergrad, a well known football player in State College and working as a Grad Asst Coach at his Alma Mater, PSU). He was apparently drunk when he headed back up to the Lasch Building (he was not at home on a Friday evening after work - that is utter nonsense and MM even stated that he never went home from work that Friday in his initial statement) - why he went to Lasch (and whether he had arranged to meet his girlfriend there potentially) is still unclear. What seems to be clear imho is that MM was drunk when he went to Lasch and was likely going to Lasch for "recreational purposes" of his own (he likely called this off via phone once he got to Lasch, similar to his phone call to his dad). In any event, MM clearly seems to have been in an "impaired condition" where everyone he spoke with had trouble figuring out, or even remotely trusting, what he was saying due to his impaired condition. I doubt MM even himself remembers exactly what he saw given his likely condition at Lasch - he was almost certainly pretty drunk after 4 hours or more of "Friday happy hour" partying in downtown State College prior to heading back to Lasch for some unkown reason. He gets there and hears that somebody is already there....and almost certainly thinks it is another coach having sex with a girl.....or maybe he thought his "invitee" had figured out a way into Lasch and was already in the shower. Then in his drunk state he sees its Sandusky with a Second Mile kid in the shower, which is a pretty unusual situation given the circumstances and time of night.....he freaks out and runs to his office to tell whoever was going to meet him, not to come......he then calls his dad who probably could tell he was drunk and told him to go to his house which is very close by......Dranov and John McQueary probably quickly ascertain that he is very inebriated, his story is probably very disjointed and not making a lot of sense.....and he likely has lost all credibility with his audience given his condition.

That is likely "the story" - not the made up bull$hit story the OAG concocted more than a decade later about MM going directly home after work on a Friday evening and became inspired to take his new sneakers to Lasch building because he was watching "Rudy" on TV on a Friday night!!! (this story is provably bull$hit beyond belief as PSU Football Coaches don't go buy "sneakers" like everybody else - they get all their coaching athletic gear for free from Nike and had MM gotten new "sneakers", he would have picked them out from Nike's catalog and had them delivered to Lasch.....he wouldn't have gone out and "bought them" and then hand-transported them to Lasch on a Friday evening "Happy Hour" costing him an opportunity to party with all the co-eds he could send pictures of his Johnson to with messages asking if they would "like to drop their mouth on it?"..... LMFAO at how patheticly lame the OAG's bull$hit is in regards to everything whether it is Courtney or McQueary!!! Just a bunch of State-Paid and State-Employed corrupt, immoral, scumbag hypocrite-lawyers fabricating evidence and Malicious Prosecutions (at the very same time they are being paid to immorally protect the actual criminals and guilty) all over the place - go figure!
