I watched a few of Cale Sanderson's national championship matches. He just exuded competence in every movement. It is like watching perfection in action.

That got me thinking of other examples of near perfection. Consider Ted Williams swinging at a baseball. Sidney Crosby handling a puck. Larry Bird shooting a jump shot. Walter Payton running off tackle. Tiger Woods hitting a 6 iron.

What are some other examples of near perfection in the sports world?

Christian Laetnee versus Kentucky in 1992 regional final. 10-10 from the field with one three pointer, 9-9 from the line and an epic game winner.
Good example. Reminds me of Bill Walton against Memphis State in the 1973 NCAA title game. 21 for 22 from the floor.

I'll cast a vote for the Penn State Women's Volleyball team, specifically the 2008 team (part of a run that included four straight national championships):

- Won every individual set of the regular season
- Won 52 straight matches (continuing from previous year)
- Won 111 consecutive sets
- Went undefeated 38-0 and finished with a set record of 114-2.
