I just had my laptop serviced . It has Microsoft 10 operating system .
Since returning home the wired mouse doesn’t work.
Any suggestions ?

1 - power down your laptop, remove the battery pack for 30 seconds and reinstall, then power up and test again

2 - run Windows Update

3 - Assuming you are connecting via USB. Check to be sure the USB port is working by connecting another device (thumb drive, for example). If it is, the problem may be the mouse itself. You could also check your USB ports using Device Manager.

Can you find it under devices?? You may have to reinstall it. I would start by turning off the laptop unplugging the mouse, rebooting the laptop and then replugging in the mouse and see if it’s auto detected

Try switching to a different USB port.Just unplug it from the suspect one to another and the laptop should see it when you plug it in.

Most laptops have multiple USB ports, try using another port with the mouse. If you know of someone nearby whose home you take your laptop to and try out their mouse with your laptop, give it a go.
