59 watch! DeChambeau is 12 under today with 2 holes to go. Just eagled a par 5....hit a 247 yard 5 iron for his second shot to three feet. Sick!

I was there yesterday. Caves is not a terribly hard golf course and players were shooting at pins all day. Bryson is insane!

And when you allow them to play ball-in-hand....wow.
Yes, like shooting fish in a barrel. So many areas outside the ropes were pure mud despite thick grass. They double cut and double rolled the greens so that helped keep scores down a bit yesterday. I’m sure for Saturday and Sunday they will hide the pins a bit more.

We were up at Liberty National last week on Friday. Was very surprised Rahm did not win. He is the best player right now and will be a pain at the Ryder Cup.

If interested we stayed in Lower Manhatten and took the ferry over, obviously some great views.

From a post about a week ago, I don't think Ben Hogan could hit his driver that far (obviously a different era regarding clubs and golf balls)!

I was there yesterday and have walked the course earlier in the Summer. Amazing venue. Hilly risk reward course with gorgeous views. Soft conditions and no wind leaves any track vulnerable to higher scores. I was also struck by the number of players on the PGA now that could have dominated pre-Tiger or challenged during Tiger’s era. Bryson. Morikowa. JT. DJ. Brooks. Rahm. Spieth. Rory. Every group had at least one A-lister.

In case anyone is interested, Cantlay and DeChameau are still at it in sudden death on the 6th extra hole.

My son and I were there Saturday. Followed deChambeau/Rahm/Cantlay most of the day. Witnessed up close BD's back to back eagles, and his back to back water balls.
Crowd was very vocal which was cool, but too many A-holes. The stuff the players have to put up with is ridiculous.

I witnessed it from my couch ;)

Good Times! They grow up fast

Wish they’d toss the a-holes out with the “in the hole” or “you the one” shoutouts.

One of the most entertaining four days of golf outside of a Major I’ve ever seen.
Yesterday some fans yelled "get in the hole" during back swings. Every time dechambeau missed a put or hit a bad shot, there was always a "good shot Brooks". Im not a huge fan of his, but he catches more shit than anyone. On the 18th tee somebody yelled "Brooksie" at the top of his backswing.
Rory was walking by us after putting out on the 9th. Some jackass literally said "Rory, you look hot, I love you."
The sheer number of "fans" that spoke loudly or were laughing while being close to a shot being played left me shaking my head.

Another reason to love the Masters

Millennials - making the world a worse place every day. Sorry, I know it is a stereotype but look at what is a happening.

Yep. John Lucas said that sports imitates society. As we become more uncivil in the real world, you can see the same in the fans at events.

There are always drunken idiots at these things, but on a whole, these golf events are filled with 95%(at least) of fans that wear the proper attire, are totally respectful and conscientious, and treat the game/players with great respect. I went to the northern trust a few weeks ago and this was the case. Name another sport in this country where you will find that? Certainly not at the Beav in 2 weeks.

were they IDed and escorted from the game? Unfortunately, golf is going to have to have bouncers. Unacceptable under any circumstances.

Reason no. 1 as to why tickets to sporting events are overpriced. The experience is lacking due to the uncivil behavior. When did it become the norm to be totally wasted by kickoff? It's not just the young folks these days. Now excuse me while I go warn kids to get off my lawn.

ESPN is piling on. Apparently, BK had a brief conversation with a fan after the match.

I did notice, however, the announcer said that Cantlay beat the "Bully" right after BK missed his birdie/tying putt. I took that to mean bully in golf terms in that BK overpowers the golf course. But I thought it a poor choice of words, unless it was on purpose.

Nothing about the Bryson DeChambeau experience is easy these days

Halfway up the hill, something happened that made me feel like we've arrived at a miserable place in the never-ending circus that is DeChambeau. A patron waited until DeChambeau had walked by, but was not out of earshot, then sneered from over the rope line, "Great job, Brooksie!" DeChambeau spun around in a rage and began briefly walking in his direction.

"You know what? Get the f--- out!" DeChambeau yelled. He had rage in his eyes.

I'm being dead serious when I say it could have gotten ugly really fast. Maybe not "Malice at the Palace" bad, but in that moment, nothing would've surprised me. A rope line is little more than a polite suggestion when it comes to security at a golf tournament. DeChambeau had been hearing, and ignoring, that kind of taunt all week. But everyone has their breaking point.

Thankfully, DeChambeau paused, angrily motioning for a police officer to handle the heckler, then continued his march up the hill. The entire exchange took less than 10 seconds. The PGA Tour declined comment when asked about the incident by ESPN. But we've been building to something like this all summer. And I don't know what the endgame is.

I don't follow golf very closely so can anyone explain why someone calling DeChambeau "Brooksie" is an insult?? Thanks....

The two of them have "had words" and exchanged some heated tweets. They don't like eachother.
