Baylor and their Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

You could be right about Briles and Starr playing the ignorance card when in fact they knew. Sure appears as though Briles knew more about the Boise transfer situation than he claimed to. What all went into the decision to accept that transfer may still be unknown.

I got the impression, and I could be mistaken, that the biggest issue here was that the Waco PD didn't act or acted inappropriately at the suggestion or urging or in collaboration with Baylor athletics. I agree with Wensilver that if the rape / assault reports were made to the Waco PD and they took any action other than what they are sworn to do, regardless of any influence from outside their legal responsibility, this is heavily on them. Heads should roll there. And if the Pepper report doesn't discuss or at least mention what the Waco PD knew and when, then it is an incomplete and possibly misleading report. Anyone from Baylor who encouraged the Waco PD to do anything other than their jobs is in the wrong, but I may have missed where that was explicitly stated.

I'm not on top of the facts enough to condemn or exonerate anyone, but we've learned from the Sandusky bs that we aren't going to get into the depths of the facts from the media or from the report commissioned by a biased body looking to make sure their narrative is supported.

That said, somehow the victims of these assaults and rapes were not served in the way they should have been. If it is primarily an athletic culture issue or not, it may still be too early to know. If it's a Waco PD culture issue, they have much bigger problems down there than the school overemphasizing winning.
I'm not Wendy ;) Altho we do think enough alike quite often enough to be twins from two different sides of the equator, I'm pretty sure you might be referencing my post on this thread? Nothing personal, it's just happened a few times already and I'm being humorous about it because we post the same things on Twitter a lot too, lol.

Sorry, Nellie! Always want to make the correct attribution. (I just can't remember who said what for the 14 seconds it takes to get a reply started sometimes.)
I knew it was from someone smarter than me, so I was gonna be correct in either case!

As being Penn Staters, we need to very careful until we see the evidence. This is an allegation, not fact as we have not seen the email. Furthermore, these guys get hundreds, if not thousands, of emails per day. An email entitled "I was raped at Baylor University" might easily get deleted, and never read, as being a "prank". Just read twitter or the Nigerian General emails.

Or, he could have read it and decided he DIDN'T WANT to know it.

Either way, lets see and review the evidence. I am not going to consider these guys guilty or innocent until I see the evidence with my own green eyes.

The vice tightens on Ken Starr (video) ...

Watch his crisis coach direct him on camera!

LOLOL Unless you have two sessions open to check (and who does that, nobody) it's kind of hard to go back mid-post to check.

the similarities to Penn State are eerie:

Baylor Nation:

My heart goes out to the victims for the pain that they have endured. Sexual assault has no place on our campus or in our society. As a father of two daughters, a grandfather, and a husband, my prayers are with the victims of this type of abuse, wherever they are. After 38 years of coaching, I have certainly made mistakes and, in hindsight, I would have done certain things differently. I always strive to be a better coach, a better father and husband, and a better person.

Keep in mind, the complete scope of what happened here has not been disclosed and unfortunately at this time I am contractually obligated to remain silent on the matter. The report prepared by Pepper Hamilton, the law firm hired and paid for by Baylor's Board of Regents, has not been shared with me directly, despite my full cooperation with the investigation. I can only assume that the report, which is not independent, supports the conclusions that the Board has already drawn. I hope to share with you what I was aware of as soon as I can so Baylor Nation can begin the healing process.

I have the utmost admiration for Baylor University, its community, and its important mission. I am truly grateful for having the chance to coach hundreds of young student athletes at this University. I am deeply humbled for having had the opportunity to be a part of Baylor Nation.

Sounds familiar

I haven't gotten the impression that the survivors went directly to them first.

I think the implication, from what I've seen at least, is Briles and Starr have pretended like they didn't know anything about it when there's evidence they did.

I could be wrong, but I think they're just trying to get some distance from Briles before everything comes out.

I'm talking about MEDIA REPORTERS spinning it this way. And yes, this is what narrative they are using this week, from alleged survivors. And it's Women in media tooting this horn. I can name you some of them if you like.

speaking of which . . . DR Saturday column on latest victim

Joe Schad does a credible job of presenting the victim's side of the story, yet seems to leave out critical details that seem to undermine that narrative

not saying she was or was not attacked, but the "facts" seem to paint a much more complicated picture, which Schad only late last night decided to post to his FB page (2 hours after his one sided account went viral)

Chafin's side of the story

why these 2 accounts could not be run concurrently seems suspicious . . .

Yep. Joe Schad going for the kill. Baylor appears to be in the wrong, but these journs are like sharks smelling blood in the water.
