Are our guys small compared to competition?

I can appreciate the thought processes out there but it's probably not fair to say Cael is ahead of the curve or ground breaking. Only as late as last year we had a guy struggling with a cut. Two if you count Joseph trying to make 157. We certainly have guys cutting now...it's just a matter of how much.

I can agree that Okie State seems to push too hard in the wrong direction but give some credit to Ryan with Snyder up and moving Nick Helfin up from 174 to 197 and get the benefit. Or Koll who had no problem wrestling Dake higher and eating what he wanted or Realbuto who moved up to stay away from the more serious cut.

This has a lot to do with what you have on The roster and where the pieces can fit best. There are so many things to speak about Cael, his approach and the acheivements, but maybe temper the enthusiasm on some points.
It seems like a lot like to get onto John for the weight cuts, but there are plenty of examples of people who have gone up in the OSU lineup after an obstacle (a better wrestler) had moved on. Think Oliver, Dieringer, Pendleton, Rosholt, Hendricks,Gelagoev, Mammen, etc. all went up.

A lot of the cuts are the choice of the wrestler. Crutchmer was at 174 because he couldn't beat Boyd. Pure and simple. Same with Chance, if he was going to make the lineup, it was going to be 157, cause he wasnt taking Ringers spot. Didn't follow advice, instructions, or training plan, so ended up a washout. It happens.

Happens both ways. McCutcheon only at 197 because he couldn't beat Nickal.

Fortunate that for some women it doesn't matter. If you gotta talk about it, you don't got it. Have another drink and a smoke while your at it.

Come on, man. You teed that one up. You can't get upset whenever someone takes a swing at it.

Don't look so deep into this. Every rival program has something that is joked about. OSU with the weight cuts (and Tognetti's sisters - opposite of weight cuts), tOSU with the tans (and average refs & flu), Minnesota with the tshirts, xanax and Jammenz and Iowa gets the most abuse with too numerous things to list...

And yet each have excellent fans that will sit up till the wee hours to talk wrestling. Jokes aside, most fans from all teams are pretty cool folks. Not all, mind you, but most.

Part of the fun is talking wrestling with other wrestling fans. Got to talk to an Iowa/Iowa State fan sitting in front of me all 3 days. A group from Wyoming at breakfast every morning. A bunch of Buckeye fans sitting in the area I sat. Shared a booth for lunch on Friday with Michigan fans.

I was talking to a friend before Friday night's session and we agreed. Wrestling and good looking women, can talk about either all night over a couple of beers.
