50/50 on the Las Vegas Bowl

Last night, the LV Bowl committee met to reduce the 4 B10 teams(PSU, Wisconsin, Purdue, and Minnesota) and 4 P12 teams (UCLA, Wash State, Arizona State, and Oregon State) down to 2 per conference. It appears they have eliminated Purdue and Minnesota from consideration.

According to this article, looks like its between Wisconsin and us for the Las Vegas Bowl but depends on where Michigan State lands. However, the article fails to acknowledge that it's really if Iowa or Michigan State gets into the NY6.

If Sparty lands in the Citrus...it is Pinstripe for PSU.

Most projections have Michigan state making a NY6 and playing ND in Fiesta and that’s assuming a Michigan win over Iowa . mich to playoffs , OSU to rose, MSU to fiesta

Mich state will be 10-2 with a win over the #2 team . They will be NY6 bound. So it appears very obvious it’s Vegas for us right now if that article is accurate, Wisconsin will get outback

Conference Pride Ghey Lite and UM in the playoff aside - We Should- all be embarassed if this Iowa team wins the Big Ten. If it happens that doesnt just fall down on Disco Harboogy, PSU also didnt do enough to make sure that type of humiliating thing didnt happen. Not good!

But when I am wrong, why not Vegas!! That Stadium is awesome. What an experience for our players. Is the game time ideal? Of course not.....but I will have that game on and treat it like every game!

I would worry about the clubs, drinking, and partying before the gambling.

That was point I was making--they are 18-22 year old kids...they aren't going to be sitting at the $100 blackjack table at 4am. Also, doesn't sound like you've ever been to Vegas before if you are comparing it to an average frat party.

Ive been to vegas multiple times and it’s nothing to write home about. The point is that there isn’t anything in Vegas that I haven’t seen in State College/Pittsburgh/Nashville, etc…

Yes, it’s cool. There are people there from all over the world so from a mingling standpoint it’s an experience. The aussies are nuts. The English are dry. It was difficult getting used to seeing people in casinos with their kids in strollers, etc… but Vegas not being a good bowl destination because of the partying and clubs argument is just stupid. Because again, anything you can do in Vegas (sinful acts) you can replicate on your local campus.

I’ve already scoped flights and it’s just not going to work for me. I’d go back to Vegas just to hang out with PSU folk. But I’m a snow removal contractor and being across the country in the winter could be bad for business. Ran into it last year being in Orlando. Left with a nearly 0% chance of snow. Next day we get 4 inches from a lake effect band. Lesson learned.
