How is that even possible. They got 10 against Illinois.

I put a lot of value on intangible stuff like focus, intensity, and stuff like that.

We sleep-walked into the Illinois game, hung over from Iowa with an extra week off to wallow in our misery. We were not focused or prepared for Illinois, and it showed. I'm guessing the team assumed they'd walk all over Illinois.

But this week? Nobody is giving PSU a chance. The coach is under attack from all directions. The OSU hype train is rolling, while people are talking about the Panera Bread Bowl for PSU.

I have zero evidence to back up my hunch. It's why it's a hunch. But I think this team comes out focused and passionate in a way we haven't seen in awhile. I think they rise to the occasion and play inspired football.

And still lose by 17.

That's how good OSU is and how flawed we are. Emotion only carries you so far. And Ryan Day tends to have his teams dialed in.

But it's also why I don't see this as a blowout.

Penn State might just win the game. No, I am not crazy......well maybe. But since the B2G thinks the game is a lock they may it send the worst referine crew to do the Mich game and protect them. Playing only eleven people on the field will make it seem easier than other games with the Suckeyes.

I’m with you. Clearly almost everyone thinks this will be a cakewalk for OSU. Hopefully, the OSU players will too. On paper, it looks like a blow out and maybe it will be. But games aren’t won or lost on paper. As my late father used to say, that’s why they play the games.

For PSU to beat OSU they will need to make more mistakes than PSU. Hard to imagine that happening at night in the shoe

Several years ago when Ohio State was heavily favored over Iowa, the game started out with Barrett's first pass being intercepted for a pick six. After that Bosa went down and also two offensive tackles were down for part of the game. It turns out that Iowa had two great tight ends and Ohio states linebacker coaching was terrible. Ohio State made mistake after mistake and couldn't cover the tight ends.

I lurked on the Iowa board and before the game they thought it was impossible that they could beat Ohio State. They did. You never know. However, one thing that really hurts Penn State is that one of the strongest parts of Ohio state's game is the running game and apparently Penn state's defensive line after injuries is not that good.

I’m concerned about where PSU’s collective head is going into this game. As the team plane took off for columbus, Franklin was heard asking, “Are we really doing this?”

Was Taquon on the plane.
Of course. He's in his third year in the program and he's not equipped to take a snap from center or properly line his offense up for a snap, but hey, only 105 quarterbacks were available in the portal.

Did the Viagra finally wear off or are you getting ready for the morning paper route?

As you said, I think we'll come out motivated and firing on all cylinders like we did at Iowa but a trend that has followed MY throughout his career will emerge and the offense will become much less effective after the first two drives (much like it did at Iowa before Clifford got hurt) and we'll be struggling to sustain momentum for the better part of the game. Defensively, the ends will once again get engulfed in the running game and be major liabilities while the linebackers are just as undisciplined. Ohio State gets a lead a never looks back while they seek to make a statement.

Ohio State 64
Penn State 17

My prediction: 1/3 of the posters here are actively rooting for a Penn State loss.
