Penn State VS Ohio State has to get the 8pm slot right?

Take a look at the other games that day, I'm sure the reason this hasn't been announced is primarily due to ESPN/ABC fighting with Fox over it, but given the matchups in CFB, and the fact that the game is before MLB playoffs begin, I can't see how either of those networks could fail to put this game in primetime. The ratings will be HUGE... the price of the tickets for a 107k stadium is unprecedented.

The only thing I can see that might mess with it being a night game is Boston at NYY as the MLB Season closes out, and that will likely be a huge matchup.

It's almost certain IMHO that the game will be carried on ABC/ESPN, not Fox. Fox has first choice of Big Ten games each season and picked tOSU/Michigan again. I don't see any Big Ten game that Disney would pass on as their first pick.

The game time hasn't been announced because there is no obligation to announce it yet -- only the first 3 weeks and Homecoming games are required to be be set in advance. The days of the Big Ten requiring all night games to be announced in advance (and for no November night games) are gone with the current TV deal.

Well, what is more important, is the pain that I am not feeling. I spent over $6k per year on club seats when you include the donation. If I wanted to stay overnight for a night game (even though I live 2.25 hours from the stadium) that was an extra $600-800. I am going on vacation in Scotland to play golf for 2 weeks with my savings. I will enjoy the games on TV this fall and, maybe, attend one of the "better" day games.

Couldn't agree more.. so selfish. I have one wedding this fall and oddly enough it's my friend who is a big Penn State fan. Luckily it's the Kent State game, but regardless, I will absolutely be glued to my phone.

The fact that most marquee games are at night is the primary reason why I gave up my tickets. The secondary reason is the crap OOC schedule.

It was a factor in our decision too--gone are the days when I could stay up all night (as happened in 2005, when we were not able to get out of the lots until 3:30-4 am) and not regret it. But not a major factor. Hotel costs were the biggest--and STEP. Add to that distance traveled, and it got to be harder and harder (for me, 6 hours one way).

No regrets, either way--we had fun when we had them. But "to everything there is a season"...

Now we try to do one game--home or away--and make it special. Iowa was a lot of fun last season. But the year before was the first time I'd not attended any kind of football game during a season since I was in HS. This year should be Kent State with our Kent State niece.

It is actually a little bit better for me. The wedding is Friday but we are staying the night. It will be a couple hour drive home the next day on Saturday.

Yeah, that's definitely at least better. I think the only times I have ever missed a game in my life are due to weddings. Most have been smaller games but this is a big one...not happy. Plus, the person getting married is a Penn State grad--you think they would have planned ahead smh

The game is in September.

Like many other posts on this board, he just figured he could recycle last years news and use it again. His post was actually 100% correct for the game at OSU last year. The World Series had priority on Fox so we had a 3:30 slot. Not an issue this year. Not sure if there is something else "big" (hard to play Ryder Cup at night) that might screw it up, but wont be the World Series.
