Yesterday a UMass punt hit #5 on the leg, causing a turnover. A turnover like that in tOSU game could be a disaster. Can the punt return team be coached to prevent the ball from hitting them, if so how? Or is is just bad luck/a fluke?

I am pretty sure that came at a point when we were already leading by more than 40 points. who knows how far down the depth chart we were on that punt

IMO, that was really just a fluky play. The punt was tipped and affected it's trajectory. Pure bad luck.

Same thing happened to Iowa against us. Wrong place at the wrong time, it just happens in football sometimes.

They have a code signal for return man to yell to inform the guys not looking but it is difficult to avoid no matter what you do. Just luck of the bounce.

The punt was blocked causing the ball to flutter short and toward sideline where PSU player was blocking UMass gunner. Fluke play.

It was in the first half and we were up 28-0. We had just stopped them with less than a minute to go in the half and were looking to work on a quick score with no time outs.
