Is it unusual to have this many firings in Mid-November in college football? This seems like a new thing to me but I don't really pay that much attention.

Agreed, I think Arnett has a chance to be a damn good coach too. He'll land a good DC job somewhere, we'll see him as a HC again soon in my opinion. But sounds like their AD wants his own guy which is understandable.

Its been trending earlier and earlier, schools trying to get a leg up on everyone else.

Recently it’s become more prevalent so schools can get ahead of the curve in hiring the next coach they’re going to fire in two or three years.

Maybe if Manny Duaz takes a HC job after this season, PSU can hire the former Miss State HC as the new DC.
