At my gym there is a really nice, young black man about 20 yrs. old. He expressed an interest in golf and I took him to a driving range and got him started and gave him an old golf club. I bought 20 lessons this summer from my teaching pro, and I asked the pro if we could have a ruse and I would tell the young man that the pro offered occasional free lessons to young players to build up the game. (I was anonymously giving up one of my lessons to the young man)
A lesson was scheduled and something came up and he didn't have the courtesy to notify the pro that he would have to cancel. Now the pro is pissed and he won't get the lesson, which would have greatly helped in making him a better player. It would have also potentially opened up business opportunities.
The kid is a really good kid, but no one in his family taught him this basic courtesy.
