The linked article regarding kiddie porn involves the Principal at my daughter's elementary school. I don't know how Joe could have let this happen.....

In all seriousness, every time I see another one of these cases, I sit and think....why, when these cases seem to go the same almost every time, why, WHY at Penn State did people get absolutely crucified for missing the actions of a pedophile? In all these cases, there were signs. But for some reason at Penn State, it just HAD to be some sort of cover up. It couldn't simply be that these pedophiles and child porno perpetrators know how to operate under the radar. That they always operate from a position of trust....priest, counselor, coach, Principal...and avoid detection for years. It couldn't be because in this great country people are innocent until proven guilty and sometime that proof comes years to late, after several initial allegations. Why at Penn State, it just HAD to be Joe Paterno protecting our beloved football program?

In this case, he was reprimanded in 1999 over "inappropriate conduct regarding excessive gifts and references to coming to his home" to a first grader. No police. Kept on being involved with the school system. Sound familiar? I wonder if Brevard County was trying to protect their elementary kickball program?

I'm pissed at our BOT and admin for rolling over and accepting that narrative.
I'm pissed at our lazy ass news media for accepting that narrative because it made a great story.
I'm pissed at our lazy, ignorant public accepting it hook line and sinker.

Luckily in this case, it appears it didn't cross the line to actual molestation.

You know why. Because the AG had a press conference with picture of C/S/S and said they knew about it and had emails proving they covered it up to
protect football. Oh, and Joe was told by one of his assistants that he witnessed JS raping a kid in the locker room. Aside from Spanier offering his support behind C/S and Joe, the administration and the BOT went silent for a number of days, not even a statement of concern, until they fired Joe. And never offered any qualification or nuances.

At that point, the BOT admitted guilt in the public's mind, the media smelled blood, and it was over.

The "reason" for the Paterno attack is just that. Because it was Joe. I'm not saying he was a saint. BUT because of the way he ran a CLEAN winning program pissed off everyone in the NCAA - because they could not or would not make all act the same. We love to tear down good people, always have. We also have this sick idea that the "end always justifies the means". We are America, sad but true. Nothing has changed - hence the dirty programs throughout the NCAA. NO ONE really cares at all. The media is NOW only about Facebook, links, twitter, hits, whatever. NO real reporting with honesty nor investigation.
