Darnold's biggest claim to fame is...............a deflected pass not intercepted in last years ...........Rose Bowl. Whoopie.Todd McShay's first mock draft has Cleveland taking Sam Darnold No. 1! But then they have the Browns taking Barkley at No. 6.
Word is that Darnold is leaning to returning to USC.Rosen has said he won’t play for the Browns. Darnold looked terrible in his bowl game. That said, the Browns have to take a QB at #1. If Barkley ends with the Browns it will be with pick #4.
Think they should sign Cousins & a top WR as free agents (they have $100M in cap space), draft Barkley 1, focus on OL and Defense in the remainder of the draft. It would turn them into a .500 team immediately. Thankfully, as a Steelers fan, I know they won’t.
Chasing QBs is NFL folly. How many actually turn out? Unless you are convinced one of these guys is a franchise QB you take the best player in Barkley and roll on from there. You wouldn't pass up an Eric Dickerson type to rake a flyer on an Alex Smith type, would you? If RB is your best position, trade guys and add picks. Barkley is too much of an extraordinary talent to worry about filling a specific need elsewhere.
You mean with the draft pick they'll trade the Eagles for? This discussion of who will be the first pick of the first round is very interesting. But who do you all think Pittsburgh will take withe the last pick of the first round?
You're giving the browns and barkley way too much credit. They didn't win a game this season. They aren't 2 players away
from being legit.
