Latona beating Vito at 125 shocked me too... considering it was at 133 ;)

Olmos over Plott was the 1 I was most surprised about. Oregon State kids show up and compete hard though. Also it’s a big loss for Plott for seeding purposes

Attended the VT-Cornell match. Latona looked very sharp. Got to Vito’s legs 3 times (only finished once). He had Vito hopping on one leg for a long time which wore him out.

Yeah, and did you notice Latona is listed as a 5th year Sophomore? Ahh the memories, to be able to say my freshman year in college were the best 4 years of my life.
Freshman year of college might actually be the best year of my life, but for these kids, a "fifth year sophomore" is only possible because two of those years were spent remote learning or wearing masks everywhere. Those weren't the best years of anyone lives.

Indeed.

I am still puzzled though, as I thought with the extra covid year plus traditional redshirt one could be a 3 year freshman. I still don't understand how a 4th year at grade is possible.

Well, the 4th was a grey shirt year, so I guess that was technically "pre-frosh".

Unranked Levi Haines wasn't an upset of Garrett Model (#16 in Intermat, #19 in Flo)? Not in Wrestlestat, where Levi has been ranked 12 for at least two weeks. Everyone dumps on the algorithm when it produces weird results but it got it right here.

Interesting weekend for the Braunagel brothers. Danny got majored by Kennedy and teched by Hamiti. Zach beat Warner and Amos. One is possibly the best weekend they've had in college wrestling, the other the worst. LOL.

FWIW, from Coach Grey's summary of the ASU and VT matches (take from it what you will):

Vito was clearly not at his best this trip and that was known going into it. Regardless, he wanted to compete for his team and come on the trip.
