OMAHA, Neb. (FOX 42 KPTM) — An Omaha man became the first Nebraskan accused of taking part in the U.S. Capitol riot in early January.
FBI agents with the Omaha Field Office arrested Brandon Straka on a federal warrant Monday.
Straka is a leader of the Walk Away campaign, a movement that started in 2018 encouraging Democrats to leave the party in favor of conservatism.
Straka is scheduled to be in federal court on Tuesday.
He is facing a number of charges:

- Impeding law enforcement officer during civil disorder;
- Knowlingly entering and remaining on restriction grounds without lawful authority
- Engaging in disorderly conduct with intent to disturb a hearing before Congress.
