I think we all thought he would have a bigger year, but just watched the replays of most of the year, and the WRs really hurt with the drops and just poor positioning (i.e. 2 WRs in the same spot). our new TE was not as present early and the newer WRs were watching from the bench sans a cleanup role.

the other key thing early was Trace's scrambles and runs = very key in most of those games. if you watch after he got hurt in Iowa game, he was just not even close to the same speed or moves we saw from him early on. UM game was his low point in mobility. By Maryland his straight speed looks to be getting better but still not anywhere near early, and he still had not gotten any of his ability to cut and moves.

given all the factors, it is amazing he even had the year he did. nobody wants to make injury excuses but from a mobility standpoint, he is not back to 100% form we saw at start of season.

hope he is back for bowl game - love to see him have a big day

In other breaking news, defense contributed to our three losses and was vulnerable to giving up the big play in critical situations *
