Top True Freshman Thus Far

Well it's between Wade, Castro-Fields, Matos. They are all pretty close but I guess I would have to go with Matos. I think Castro-Fields may have the biggest upside.

I mentioned in another post that Simmons and Joseph are not panning out yet. I realize they are only in their second year, and who knows how good they can become. But when you haven't seen highly rated true or RS freshman do much, how can you tell how good they may or may not become?

A perfect example is John Reid compared to Wade. Wade is playing alright for a true freshman, but Reid was really good as a true freshman. Than you have Simmons, Toney, and Joseph at DE. Toney has shown he can do some good things and get to the QB. I haven't quite seen that from Simmons or Joseph yet. Simmons lit it up at Rivals camps and won MVPs.

So my question is how (if possible) can you tell how good a young highly recruited player may end up, that hasn't done much yet?
