T-Row & Funky Talk Recruiting

Part one is also worth listening to, definitely one of the better podcasts they've done.

Agree generally about the early recruiting verbals. Good for the school, not good for the student-athlete, at least from a negotiating point of view. An early verbal shows your cards to the school, which has limited scholarship dollars to allot. Only advantage I can think of, for the student-athlete, is that your early verbal may scare off potential competition. But that notion seems suspect given that an early commit's weight isn't predictable, "facts" seen on this board notwithstanding.

They touched upon Adam Busiello and his commitment. Their shared position is that it shouldn't stop college coaches from actively recruiting him/someone in his circumstances. My question is whether kids make an early commitment to stop the circus if they know where they want to go (witness Adam wearing a PSU singlet in tournaments). If so, shouldn't college coaches honor that?

On Franklin Gomez: "If you can be an animal at Michigan State, you are truly special." Hilarious.
