The bottom line for me is that it shouldn’t be fundamentally impossible/illegal to create/operate an amateur sports league. If you don’t like the rules, don’t participate. The NCAA fvcked it up because they don’t want to be an amateur sports league.

You mean the Saban of 30-35 signings fame who would then ruthlessly cut players, even including not honoring scholarships in his new signing class? Players were routinely left scrambling just before the season started and with no place to go, often after having had turned down rivals. The same Saban who complained when the NCAA put in minor safeguards for the players and tried to fix the scholarships limits that Saban was making a mockery of? Great guy.
