Does the OL know if the play is a run or pass when the ball is snapped? The way the OL plays it appears they block as if every play is a pass. They never seem to explode off the line of scrimmage and reestablish the LOS which results in so many tackles for loss. Thoughts?

For ROP Read Option they know it will be a run by RB or QB (keeper). For RPO Run Pass Option they don't know.

they block the played called, so if a run is called they block run all the way, if the QB decides to throw it, he just throws it, either a quick screen to the outside, or play action off the run called. They don't really worry about ineligibles down field.
