"Remember what its about. A bunch of Rich guys, didn't want to pay their taxes."

That quote was discussing the Bi-Centennial celebrations that were about to take place that summer, not Independence Day in general.

It was pretty clear she was talking about the founders of the country, bi-centennial or not.

And she would be mistaken. The second volume of a four volume series I am coauthoring on the founders was just released and first they weren’t all rich and second by the time they declared independence there were multiple issues in play beyond taxation.

I think it had to do with representation. Getting very little, to no say at all, for said taxes.

You're correct that she would be mistaken. But more importantly, what's the name of your book?

“Graves of Our Founders Volume 2: Their Lives, Contributions And Burial Sites” was released last month. Volume 1 was published in 2018. A companion volume titled “Pennsylvania Patriots” was released in 2019. All are available through Sunbury Press and Amazon.

Hmm. I remember Pennsylvania Patriots. It looked like a interesting book. I think I even had it on my wish list in 2019, but I didn't receive it as a gift or purchase it.

I wasn't aware that a Graves of Our Founders series had been released. Sunbury Press isn't known for doing a lot of publicity for books.

I looked up the details of Graves of Our Founders, Volume 2. I've visited more than half of the graves of the individuals listed as being covered in the book. I'd be interested to see what you have to say about those sites. A few of the individuals you listed (whose burial sites I hadn't visited) got my attention, like William Maclay. His diary is one of the best sources of info on the early Congresses of the United States. He represented PA, so I would presume he's buried somewhere in PA, but I've never investigated where he's buried.

I guess the only question I have about the book is which of the Joes (there are two that were co-authors) are you?

Congratulations on the series, and best of luck with it.

For his legions of fans, I note that Button Gwinnett was included in Volume 1, along with George Washington and John Adams.

Thanks for the good wishes. I’m Farley. Maclay is buried at Paxton Presbyterian Churchyard in Harrisburg. We have also authored a Series titled “Keystone Tombstones” which tells the story of famous and infamous people laid to rest in the Commonwealth. Among those covered in Volume Three are Joe Paterno and Art Rooney. Both also appear in a special volume titled “Keystone Tombstones: Sports.”

Unfortunately most young people today this China is a better country with more freedom and less inequality than the USA. And think the Middle East is no different than Europe when it comes to personal freedoms (or lack thereof).

Seems like the reverse is true last 12 years. Bail me out govt or I won't have company. Banks say "Take all the risk away via MBS purchases and I will continue to loan money". Make sure I don't pay anything more than 2% on my overnight repo fed..buy it all. Socialism comes in many forms. You are living in socialist-capitalist society regardless if you want to believe it.
