So things must be pretty bad when CNN dispenses with the usual smokescreens and is reduced to reporting actual facts: Western intelligence assessments are "increasingly sobering"; a Ukie breakthrough is "highly unlikely"; Ukie losses are "staggering"; and so forth.
This is not to say that the Russians are on the cusp of a glorious triumph. Far from it.
