This is one of the few big games I can remember when PSU arguably lost the line of scrimmage battle on both sides of the ball and still won the game. And they won without a lot of turnovers by the opposition, big plays or crazy sequences. Auburn's top two backs plus Nix averaged just over 5 yards per carry. PSU's backs plus Clifford averaged only around 2. I think that is a credit to Yurcich to find a way to move the ball, and score, without much of a run game. And credit to the defense for making a play here and there to stop drives, similar to what happened against Wisconsin. Posted this question in another thread, I am curious to hear from the x and o guys, how good are Auburn's two lines in comparison to the teams remaining on our schedule?
