I have 8 rooms/zones throughout my house with speakers connected to my audio system. Each room/zone has a dedicated volume control on that room's wall. For years, I've managed to get by with rigging the system with a combination of 3 stereo receivers, trying not to overload any individual receiver. However, I think it's time to step up my game and drive these zones with a 16 channel (8 zone) amp.

The head unit that has been and will be driving the system is my 5.1 Onkyo receiver. This Onkyo unit runs the 5.1 in my main TV room and also pushes power to a 2nd zone set of outside speakers on my deck. From there, as I already mentioned, I had 2 additional receivers driving the additional 8 zones. I prefer a 16 channel amp to power those 8 zones instead of my mix mash of receivers.

I know one can spend thousands of dollars on these type of amps, but I'm looking at this system.

Any thoughts on it? Thanks!

looks good to me!! I'd ask Uncle Lar on this board. that said have you considered something like this??https://www.crutchfield.com/S-c0gV8Y23XpL/p_190SSVC6/Niles-SSVC-6.html

maybe you could search more and find 8. but I am pretty sure this may drive 8 as you have 2 from speaker a on your Onkyo and 6 from speaker b on the Onkyo, but look at the diagram. I have one for 4 zones, and it works great.

I use a Nuvo system for my 8 zone Home Audio set up. I have touch pad controls through out my house which operates each zone. Different source components can be selected for each zone - So I can have music playing on my deck and DTV playing in media room off of the same head unit. I believe the Nuvo throws out 50 Amps per zone. For my out door zones I have separate amps (100 watts per channel) to drive these speakers. The Nubo is set as a preamp for these zones.

That sounds pretty cool. It sounds like the Nuvo is your head unit and not simply an amp?
