🧐 Looks like he entered a novice tournament with 10 years of experience under his belt and lied about his age, but it’s state medalists he is wrestling. That was impressive.
I'm paying taxes to support CD East and at least Lawler could have put up a fight..
However, I think he's going to Indiana, so he might as well get used to losing to Duke.
I said in the future lineup thread I'm excited about Duke more than any other recruit coming in the near future (as of now and LL probably a close 2nd). I think as far as my excitement level he's at a Nolf level. I watched Nolf since he was in middle school being a western PA guy. I'm not saying he will be as successful as Nolf, or as dominant, just that my excitement is on the same level. However, I'm not saying he won't be on Nolf's level either...
You know you are a top level recruit and PSU wants you when they send Coach Cael out. The little birdie said Cael is going to get Marcus Blaze. This dream team keeps getting better and better. If Cael made the house visit I could see a commitment in the next month.

Yeah, but it would take a lot of double birds to get it done and I just don't see the PSU squad being dedicated enough to let loose enough of them.

It’s inevitable that some guys are going to leave and compete for titles elsewhere. Going to be a huge logjam 149-197 at least. Good problem to have. Not going to attempt to predict who or predict who will be the best guys.

Nah. He can win his 4th in the 27-28 season (wins in 25, 26, 27 and 28) So the lineup above works for 28-29.

Also, regardless of Blaze, we're going to need more 141s soon. In 2026 the only 141 on the roster will be Perry, assuming he doesn't outgrow the weight. And there are no other 141s committed. IDK if Nagao would move up, but that would only buy 1 year.

No clue about the credibility of the poster (and some on Bucknuts are skeptical), so take it FWIW.

I saw that too - it looked Spykeresque to me honestly. That Joey Blaze rumor has been around for 2 years now - after he upset someone (can’t remember who) last year.
People at trials said Blaze was offered by tOSU close to a mil. Supposedly it was 500k awhile back. They know they can let an in state recruit get out and over to us. It is safe to say Marcus Blaze will sign the biggest wrestling NIL contract to date. After Blaze’s run I could see him breaking someone bank. Only question is his scoring ability. Looking back he wins lots of tight matches. Has wins over Knox, Forrest and Lilledahl. Is he a full court press?
A high school wrestler was offered $1M? All this proves is that some people at trials were willing to believe anything.
He scores enough I think. Lilledahl doesn’t score a ton either. Lots of semi close matches but his defense and wrestling IQ are great. Same with Blaze. No concerns for me with either guy. Pretty sure both will be great at the next level

If true (and not doubting it is) then there is something wrong with our scoring system.
Mathematically true but even less realistic than 10 champs.
The only way it could happen is for the other team to have 10 finalists, who all lose in the finals, and they average at least 4.05 pts more bonus per wrestler than PSU.

For some reason I see Blaze going to tOSU. No inside info, just a feeling.
There was alcohol being served at The BJC.
You are not taking into account all of the PSU champs throwing headgear after they win and then doing the double split bird salute. That is 10 champs x 5 matches each = 50 point deduction.
