Pitts Head coach is now officially called the "Chris Bickell ’97 Head Football Coach" I guess thats one way to get your name out there.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Pitt Football program has received a historic $20 million gift from alumnus Chris Bickell, the largest single donation in Pitt Athletics history.<br><br>Pitt&#39;s head coaching position will be permanently named the Chris Bickell ’97 Head Football Coach.<a href="https://t.co/rb3p3Slbhf">https://t.co/rb3p3Slbhf</a><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/H2P?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc^tfw">#H2P</a> <a href="https://t.co/YdmAQDGs5l">pic.twitter.com/YdmAQDGs5l</a></p>&mdash; Pitt Football (@Pitt_FB) <a href="">September 2, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

The question is, how long before this Brickell dude gets tired of 7-5 seasons! i think the 'Douche is under coin until 2025 or so...

I know the stadium isn't on campus but do they not own a single building somewhere they can throw this guy's name on instead of creating that ridiculous title??

The way it reads, The Douche is Head Coach of the "Chris Bickell '97" Football Team...., so one would have to assume, from the way it is written, that ASWP has changed its name to the "University of Chris Bickell '97".... UCB '97.

I think they are on to something.

Actually, it's a complete joke. This is what college football has become.

Actually, even when University's attach a donor name to the school, they do it at the "College" level (for example the "Smeal School of Business") - this doesn't alter the fundamental name of the University as the Colleges are underneath the University in structure. Given the way The Douche's title reads, one would have to assume he is the Head Football Coach at the "UCB '97".

PSU has it as well per Brett McMurphy. Its the Malloy Paterno Head Football Coach Endowment.

Having a Coach Endowment, or the name of said endowment, is not remotely similar to declaring your coaching HC's title the "Chris Bickell '97 Head Football Coach". But I have a feeling you knew that before you spouted this made-up bullshit spin.

Actually pretty common- look at Mitch Henderson from Princeton's title. Ivy's do it- go to a UPenn basketball game at The Palestra - you'll hear it all the time

Mitch Henderson ’98, behind only Pete Carril and Franklin C. "Cappy" Cappon as the third-winningest coach in program history, completed his ninth season as the Franklin C. Cappon-Edward G. Green ’40 head coach of Princeton men’s basketball in 2019-20.

Again, having an endowment (or the name of said endowment) is RADICALLY DIFFERENT, and not remotely analogous, to what ASWP did, which was to change their HC's Formal Job Title to the "Chris Bickell '97 Head Football Coach" from the "University of Pittsburgh Head Football Coach". BTW, it is complete made-up bullshit, and an utterly FALSE CLAIM, that PSU has done anything like this with CJF's formal title.
