Certainly not everybody's idea of a 'fun' car but had one of these and always wanted to get one later in life. Looking at one now with about 65K original miles . Priced around 10K in very good stock condition. Funny it's kind of a steal at that price.

The Karmin Ghia was a pretty cool looking model that stands the test over time. It was designed by the Italians I believe but had the reliability of a VW.

1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Had one in the mid-late 80s (passed down when my grandfather died) then my older brother borrowed, totaled and surprise surprise never replaced it. Part nostalgia but it did have a 350 V8 so it could move pretty well too.

I was going to say a 1972 olds cutlass Supreme convertible. That 350 rocket engine was great fun🚀. My sisters boyfriend wrecked mine.
