Halftime
Sock 36
MCS Charter 30

Sock playing a lot of zone. Handed MCS 2 points at the end of the half.

Final
Loyalsock 83
MCS Charter 70

Sock really in control the whole game. CI's 1,064th career win.

Anyone know anything about Archbishop Wood and what RHS can expect? Amazing my Red Knights got here. The school board originally cancelled the season and suspended Coach Perez for voicing his displeasure. Needless to say half of Reading voiced their displeasure at the next school board meeting and the season was back on. Unfortunately 9 players had already transferred to other schools in Berks that were having their season. I know it's tough to compare the biggest school in PA to a Hoosiers feelgood but after all we've been through...

RED KNIGHTS!!

MCS - the 3A school that just got eliminated by Sock - beat Lower Merion in the regular season. That's about all I know.
It's unfortunate that they lost but at least they are teaching their students...Math, Civics, and Science. Even Plato would be proud.

Wood has four Division 1 recruits (UConn, James Madison, LaSalle and Richmond). They beat Arch Ryan by 30 in the PCL playoffs and Ryan is going to the 5A title game. Ryan just beat Chester by 22.

When did Wood go 6A, I was under the impression that they had been 5 in football . Thanks in advance .

The PIAA adopted a formula last year where schools have to move up in classification based on factors such as success on the field/court and number of transfers. The crazy thing is the Wood girls are playing in the 4A championship game, the boys in 6A. This link will do a better job of explaining the new rule.

I officiated MCS a few years ago and they were one of the most pleasant teams ever to officiate. No complaints about any calls. Coach just coached, didn't really even talk to us about calls. And they lost the game by about 10.

He's been coaching at Sock for 47 years. 24 district titles. He has had a couple of losing seasons (like when I played :) )

That's funny to hear because about 10 years ago Reading Central Catholic kicked their ass and they cried racism against the refs, unfortunately for them the head guy from District 12(in attendance) who was a African American disagreed. Game was stopped in 4th quarter because it became to dangerous, cops were called in to escort fans safely. This Central team had Donovon Jack(PSU) and Marquis Marshall(Donyels son NBA) also had about 3 to 4 other African American kids. They were put on probation for two years.

They had a couple of technical fouls last night - one on the bench.

Loyalsock vs Brookville Saturday at 2:30 PM. Blue Raiders stud Jace Miner is a Wichita State baseball recruit. Here's hoping for a Raider win (I might be a little biased). Loyalsock likely favored.

Wow Brookeville is still in it ... Punxsy alumni here ... Let’s go Brookville!!

Brookville got a great gift when Ellwood City won District 7. They are on a roll and keep the games in the 40 point range.

Go Blue Raiders.

I hope Brookville doesn't just hold the ball all game. That's not the kind of game I want to see on Saturday. Loyalsock can score 70 on most and 80 on more than you would think. Sock is really, really quick and fast - faster than their last two opponents. Lots of pressure, and lots of up and down the court. Should be interesting.

That’s Brookville too. Good Speed. Not a lot of size. They’ve put up 80+ once, 70+ seven times and 60+ nine other times. The score against BG was more indicative of both teams being patient with their possessions rather than a stalling game.

Caught the Brookville/Guilfoyle game last night. I'm sure Sock won't allow Miner to leisurely walk up the court every possession like he did in that game. Will be interesting to see how the Raiders react. From what the announcers said...this is new territory for Brookville. Having never won a state playoff game before this year. Props to them.
