This young woman is a phenomenal skier and seems to be a down to earth and solid person. Really a nice story. Here is what she wrote as a 17 year-old when she first met the young girl.

Tonight
I met a young Swedish girl Emma Lundell. She has leukemia. She is
beautiful. I told her a story about my friend who had cancer- he is
healthy and thriving now. I was told I skied like Marcel Hirscher
tonight and I said that comment was the best Christmas present I could
have, but it was not, the best Christmas present I could ever get was to
see Emma smile. Thank you.

Huge Shiffrin fan here - been following her since she broke onto the FIS Tour.

How many teenagers can say they've won a Reindeer - Shiffrin won one winning a race in Finland a year or 2 ago.

She's slowly moving into the speed events - I will be interested to see if she can start taking some Combined or Super Gs soon.
