One preseason ranking predicted OSu will again have the top QB in the BT for the 2021 season. Now thats a bit of a stretch, for a QB who has yet to play any or any significant time behind center.
But, OTOH, considering the recent amazing success of Coach Day ( who rocketed from New Hampshire to OSU) in turning whoever comes along into one of the top QBs in the country, seemingly overnight, No it aint. Of course, "whoever comes along is usually a 5 or high 4 start QB, so he's not exactly turning one stars into AAs.
Also, LJ is now their highest paid assistant coach, by a ton. So I have to think he is leaned on a lot by Coach Day, and has earned his complete trust. The rest of their staff are good coaches, with lots of kudos heard for Hartline. in particular. Not sure how our staff compares, salarywise.
If you look at the relative youth of the OSU coaching staff - excluding LJ, - its quite a tribute to Coach Day just how far they have gone under his leadership. Day clearly can pick 'em...and doesnt tolerate strong egos clashing with his. A lot of top "name" coaches are no longer on his staff.
