Did they have semi automatic guns when they wrote the constitution?
Funny, I thought they only had single shot muskets.
Modern guns are not comparable to muskets, orders of magnitude more powerful.
Like comparing TNT to a firecracker.
Where are those strict constructionists when you need them?
Yes. Bur please point out the clause that restricted arms moving forward. A strict constructionists would be in favor of any weapon because there is nothing that allows certain weapons to be banned. It helps if you know the history

Using your logic television , radio, internet news sources would not have freedom of the press. Only religion around at the time would have freedom of religion....see how that works?

I don't think the constitution said everyone was entitled to abortion up to the time of birth either. Are we selectively interpreting here or is the abortion thing "different""?
There are more people killed by cars than by guns. Yet we don't ban cars...most people drive responsibly, just like most people with semi automatic weapons act responsibly.

You are truly special. The founders wanted to keep citizens from being subjects of a tyrannical government. Forcing Americans to use muskets as the government’s weapons advance was clearly not their intent. You need to post on the Pitt board. They may not be smart enough to notice how dumb you are.

I'm betting you really don't know much about firearms. Just like everything else you don't know much about.
