Tee times are out. Looking forward to seeing some carnage this week.

Winged Foot is a monster. Should be fun.
What'd ya shoot?Got a chance to play Winged Foot.....both courses.....one day back in the summer of 1972, a year I played 100+ rounds of golf. One of the athletic-related highlights of my life.....
Should be a wild four days of golf!
Bryson, DJ, and Finau with three bombers. The USGA loves putting together those “theme” groups. For some reason the USGA likes to have common ground when grouping the players. Can't be a coincidence that the three ASU Sun Devils are together (Casey, Phil and Rahm), three Okie St Cowboys (Fowler, Hovland and Wolff) and the top 3 Canadians (Conners, Hadwin and Hughes). How many times does Tiger get to play with his buddy JT? Seems like a lot.
Any more I'm missing? I went through the list pretty quick.
I guess Phil's not making the cut with that rough, the way he has been playingI'm on site all week at Winged Foot and this rough is NO JOKE. I've watched numerous players search for balls in the rough even 10 feet off the green. I tossed balls into the rough yesterday and had I not seen where they went in, I wouldn't have found them. So if you miss the fairway off the tee, you can forget about making birdie from the rough...might even forget about making par from there too. All the greens are well-bunkered with the floors of those bunkers at least 2 feet below the surface. Greens are all kinds of undulating with some being true rollercoasters. Jon Rahm was on 15 today pointing at a potential hole location and saying there's no way the USGA can put a hole there because there's no flat. Hate to break it to ya, Jon, but they'll put one there. The biggest difference between this and other Opens is that with it being cool (temps in high 60's, low 70's all week), the greens won't get burned out so there will be opportunities to hold them on shots coming out of the rough. They mowed it today...or at least, the mowers went over top of the grass but not sure how much they really cut. I'd expect winning score to be between 2 and 4 over.

What about the greens?...my cc pro is there to watch and he said they are gonna be running at around 13....that is nuts! WingedFoot greens aren't resigned to run at more than 12....going to be another Oakmont! I agree with you....no way even par wins this thing...I'm on site all week at Winged Foot and this rough is NO JOKE. What is your job if you’re willing to say? That might be where the USGA messes up -- making the greens too fast. There's already plenty of speed available thanks to the slopes. They don't need any extra help.
As for darkness setting in, I'd say it's pretty possible that we could see 2 or 3 groups have to come back in the early morning to finish the round. Tees are kinda close to the greens but they're not right on top of them so there is a bit of a walk in between holes. But given the time constraints with the time of year and the field size reduced (from 156 to 144), the USGA is gonna do what they can.

I spent about 20 minutes talking with a PSU grad with a similar role during the Monday practice round at Augusta last year, behind the 7th green.Video specialist/varsity tripod carrier/sometimes question asker. I’m media but not the evil kind.
Looks like final group Saturday might be the two least favorite golfers on tour
Absolutely !! Especially this year. I took a nap and woke up and said hey wait what happened. Switched to golf channel and read the peacock thing. WellVideo specialist/varsity tripod carrier/sometimes question asker. I’m media but not the evil kind.
And I agree with the consternation about Peacock. It’s dumb that network executives try to sell their new ventures by pissing off their core audience. Hated it when ESPN did it with the PGA too. At least Peacock is free.
My only problem w/ Bryson is his pace of play. Reed seems genuinely unlikable.I love how much everyone hates them

would be great to see the membership have to put up a picture of either one in their famed clubhouse
I didn't read the entire thread. Someone else might have asked. Have you played Winged Foot? That clubhouse is second only to Seminole on my list.

If Phil would have aimed 40 yards right on every tee shot yesterday he would have shot under par
I know about Reed, but what's the problem with DeChambeau?
He does things differently than everyone else and it became ‘cool’ to not like him because he’s slow.I know about Reed, but what's the problem with DeChambeau?
Good call.I made several plays against Reed today. Think it’s been fool’s gold for the first two days with the way he’s been hitting it, and missing fairways and greens will catch up to him.
