Nebraska just fired their Athletic Director

Its a shame, the BIG needs a strong and powerful Nebraska football program.

Leaving the Big 12 put a hurt on them. Back in the 80s/90s they were just killing the Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, Kansas St types like 65-3 each week. Their national game every year was the Thanksgiving week game vs Oklahoma (later Colorado) and then their Bowl game.

Once they left the big 8/ 12 and gave up the traditional Oklahoma game they lost the recruiting footprint in Texas. They've had trouble getting back to baseline since then.

The Big 8 was Black Friday with OU. The Big 12 ended the annual series.

Missouri and Colorado are gone too!

Nebraska had a great run under Dr. Tom Osborne. Frank Solich was a poor replacement. Talent was lost. But, wins were there because weak Northern Division.

Do they have basements in nebraska?
They are called tornado shelters I believe. Neb can cycle through coaches, but you can't change geography. It's going to be hard for any coach to draw recruits there...draw that 500 mile circle around Neb and see how many D1 recruits come out of that region.
