pavlychev ties it up 1-1!!!! 6:17 left in the first period. But Sturtz just got a game misconduct for a vicious ( Semi-clean?) check. They haven’t shown the replay yet but not sure it warranted a gamer (for kneeing?).

I would classify the Sturtz hit as careless but unintentionally. OSU defender changes direction after Sturtz commits to make a hit. If he doesn't go down (and no need to doubt he's in pain), its probably not even drawing a minor penalty). Hope the OSU player is ok


The natural reflex there is to go wide at the base and try to get a piece of the guy (although replay shows Sturtz really doesn't flay his leg out or change his feet width)....anyone saying that stuff is intentional doesn't understand the hitter is at every bit as much risk of suffering a serious injury there as the guy taking the hit.
